Tomorrow, 3 September 2008, is my son D’s first day in his new secondary school. He is nervous, but I’m sure my wife S and I are even more so. We bought his uniform about a month ago and it was evident the trousers would need a trim. Today he tried them on, and amazingly it appears he grew into them!
D is eleven. He had his share of troubles in the primary school, mostly because of his character traits and geekiness. Pupils are generally not too fond of geeky kids. He’s hoping to find more friends in the new school. Still I’m worried. His attitude is quite often condescending to others, and he usually talks too much.
We’re hopeful that this quite good state school will be good to D.
I need a drink.
