My Apple Mighty Mouse doesn’t work any more. The scroller ball rollers got dirty and wouldn’t scroll down, only up. I tried everything, even the paper trick. The paper trick helped the mouse once before. You unplug the mouse, turn it over, take a sheet of paper and roll the ball with anger up and down the sheet. The first time I did it, several chunks of dirt came out, and the mouse was working again, but this time nothing seems to help, and I don’t want to take the mouse apart just in case it is still under warranty.

So I took a Logitech MX1000 wireless laser mouse my wife was using before we got her a new, free-wheeling one (MX Revolution). I think I’m getting used to it. It sits well in my hand, and though a little bulkier and heavier than Mighty Mouse, it feels solid and has a smooth movement. Lots of buttons, too. Had to download the dreaded Logitech Control Center to enable extra button functionality. It was a cause of endless stability problems before, and my wife had to get herself another driver (SteerMouse), but it seems to be working for me so far (one day, knock on wood!)
My wife was always saying Logitech mice were the best. And my wife is always right.
